General Electric says that this IoT technology's potential impact "spans almost half of the global economy" and that it could "drive the next wave of innovation for the world."  GE sees an opportunity bigger than the entire economy of China.
Boston Consulting Group says the global self-driving market is supposed to reach $42 billion by 2025.
Cisco believes IoT will be a $19 Trillion market before 2015.  That's 452 times bigger than self-driving cars!
Accenture says, despite the size of this market and its impact, 87% of consumers don't understand what this technology is.
Intel and Cisco are budgeting billions to be a part of it.
This tangled web of billions of devices talking to each other relies heavily on "Artificial Intelligence ("AI") and the "Internet of Things ("IoT") and the implications are far greater than a little added convenience of a gadget in your home.

*The Information Highway, Literally:  The automotive industry is undergoing a transformational change with technology – it’s no longer just about what’s under the hood. From sensors and semiconductor chips to cameras and advanced electronic systems, the prospect of a self-driving car appears to be a matter of when, not if. With one-in-five cars expected to be equipped with wireless connectivity and real-time analytics by 2020, the opportunity for the automotive industry and its technology partners could be significant for capturing the imagination of the next generation of car enthusiasts.
What is now called the "Internet of Things" is a key driver for the *"Connected Cars” movement. For example, semiconductor components are expected to grow from $320 to over $400 per car in the next few years as it popularizes features like vehicle-to-vehicle communication, stolen vehicle recovery security, and in-car infotainment services.

Although many popular ideas about medical plans are based on truths, the complicated issues involved are often misunderstood or oversimplified to the point of being false or misleading. A favorite among attendees, this seminar seeks to provide a deeper understanding of how many decisions plan sponsors make often have unforeseen and unfortunate consequences.

What We'll Cover:

  • The historical failures and prevalent misconceptions of effective health plan cost management
  • A counter intuitive viewpoint of High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
  • Why pharmacy can be your health plan’s best friend and worst enemy
  • The only kind of wellness program that works and why it has nothing to do with wellness
  • How to structure your plan to increase the value of ee benefits, reduce costs

Keynote Speaker:  Dave Ross, EVP, Director of Underwriting Services at Hays Co.s, 80 S. Eighth St., Suite 700, Minneapolis, MN 55402; 612-333-3323.  Dave’s primary responsibilities include the development and maintenance of financial tools and methodologies that improve clients’ ability to effectively manage their employer-sponsored health plans.
