Sandy has successfully turned around and handled crisis management situations as the direct-hire CEO, and COO, at two service companies, over a 7+ year period. In addition, he has successfully managed the turnaround of an additional dozen public and private companies in a variety of industries, while serving as interim management, engagement manager, or as turnaround consultant for Buccino & Associates, and as an independent consultant. At that time, Buccino was the largest corporate turnaround consulting firm in the U.S. In those capacities, Sandy also testified as an expert witness in bankruptcy court.
Sandy has also successfully served as Engagement Manager for over two dozen additional companies in a wide variety of general management consulting engagements, for his own consulting company. This work has included clarifying missions, goals, and the value proposition, instituting financial disciplines, solving IT issues, establishing and maintaining performance metrics ("The Success Cycle" ©), developing strategic plans to satisfy multiple stakeholders, raising capital, developing and managing brands, serving as primary spokesperson, among many other challenges, and has achieved a positive ROI, significantly improved operations, market place standing, and increased organization value / EBITDA, for his clients.
Sandy is a native of Walpole, Massachusetts, is a graduate of Deerfield Academy (Deerfield, MA), Harvard College (honors), and the U of Chicago Booth GSB. He serves on corporate, civic, and alumni boards, is an active amateur baseball player, and has served as a "Big Brother" for many years. Sandy also serves as Chairman, since 1991, of the 131-Member, "CEO Roundtable-Chicago" and has hosted over 250 monthly dinner meetings in that capacity. The CEO Roundtable was originally created by Sandy, at the request of the then Booth GSB Dean, Jack Gould, as an alumni activity, exclusively for Booth GSB, "C-Suite" alumni. Since 2010, The CEO Roundtable has expanded its reach to serve "C-Suite" executive leaders from any school, has doubled in size, and increased it's program offerings from just 10 monthly dinner meetings to a total of about 60 events per year.
Robert "Bob" Cerone, Officer, Bd. of Dir.

After 18 years of service to three Fortune 100 companies, Bob founded EmPowerHR, a Professional Employment Organization (PEO), in 1995 as a company that would offer the kiind of comprehensive human resources (HR) management services to small businesses typically reserved for large corporations.
In 2011, Bob facilitated the merger between EmPowerHR and CSIG HR Solutions to form one of the largest privately-held PEOs in the Midwest. That merger partnered with WaterstoneHR and became a part of the Laurus Strategies' Human Resource Consulting Group (HRCG), which served clients nationwide. The purpose of the merger was to combine leading organizations that share a common goal: to provide clients the highest level of HR services and expertise the industry has to offer. In 2014, Bob purchased CognosHR, and is now the CEO of that fast growing, full-service PEO.
Bob's company offers everything from HR consulting and PEO services to global compensation and recruitment process outsourcing services.
Bob holds dual degrees in special education and behavioral psychology from St. Mary's University in Minnesota. He has also served on the board of trustees for several non-profit organizations and currently sits on the Board of the Chicago Youth Centers.
